WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The summer heat will be in full force this week and you’ll be able to cool off at a Wilmington city pool.
According to a city spokesman, the pool at Robert Strange Park is set to open — by reservations only.
Located at 401 South 8th street, this is the first of the city pools to open this summer.
“Extensive safety measures are in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” the spokesman wrote in a news release.

Call in reservations are required the day of swim. Call (910) 899-7332 to make your reservation between the hours of 7:15 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
The other two city pools, Northside and Legion, will open in the coming week.
The YMCA operates the city pools.
